Alright so I am curious if my package actually got there or not.. it states

"Arrival at Unit, November 19, 2009, 11:43 am, WASHINGTON, DC 20008"

I am assuming that "Arrival at Unit" means the Embassy... But not see "Japan Embassy" is... yea..

So what does your express mail tracking state?

Mine says this:
Quote:
Your item arrived at 9:35 AM on November 19, 2009 in WASHINGTON, DC 20074. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.
I think that means that it's arrived at the sorting place and should be put on a truck to be delivered soon. I only say that because I know that I addressed my application correctly but it arrived in a different zip code. I also just called the phone number and it told me that it arrived at the post office at 9:35AM. The tracking updates are pretty slow but I'm sure it'll get there on time.

^^^ Did it make it to Washington DC next day and if so, from where? I am just getting a bit paranoid about sending it tomorrow (Friday) from Illinois and it not arriving on time. I could send it today but I am debating keeping it just a little longer to proofread my SOP. I am going to send it via express.

I sent it yesterday around 1:30 from central Arkansas and it's in DC today.

If you send it overnight and are willing to fork out it will arrive on time. Don't worry so much!

New information for mine...

"Your item arrived at the WASHINGTON, DC 20008 processing center at 12:18 PM on November 19, 2009 and is ready for pickup"

Pickup!? uh... Hum?

My tracking states that the item was delivered and it was for signed by someone. So I think the package made it safely.

What method of shipping did you use?

I'm a little scared to use USPS b/c of issues with packages in the past. FedEx has always been reliable. Bought a comp from Dell and FedEx said it would be delivered at around noon or a little after. It was delivered at 12:03. They probably rarely ever make a mistake.

Out of curiosity, how much are you guys paying for these various shipping methods? My eyes almost fell out of my head when I went to get a quote from fedex.com, but then again I guess it's my fault for waiting this long, haha.

FedEx. And WingedWitch, mine cost like $43 bucks but I didn't really mind. As long as it gets there by Monday, I'm cool

Edit: Random, but has anyone else noticed the arrow in the FedEx logo? It's one of those cool hidden marketing things!

Well now I'm thoroughly worried. I sent mine so it will arrive by Tuesday, not Monday. I don't have that kind of money ($43 to mail) right now.

It was supposed to go out yesterday but the douche at Office Max screwed up my copies and I didn't have time to go back until last night. Sometimes I hate my work hours. Everything mailing-wise is closed by the time I'm out.
