heh. i watched a film from the library tonight (japanese, from 1936, and really quite interesting). then i'm going to do some reading, go to sleep early and sleep late tomorrow. probably a bike ride in the afternoon. i'm a pretty intense party person, as you can tell.

seriously, though, it was such a weight off to have that thing out of my hands and in the fedex guy's, i can't even articulate it.

congratulations, everyone. i think just getting that little monster put together and out the door is an accomplishment in itself.

Out of curiousity, winged, I wonder if we could get people to say whether they have applied before? I would be interested in seeing the rate of acceptance for 2nd/3rd try applicants at the end of the year.

I'm applying for my second time.

I celebrated by going out for sake and sushi... then I got sick! I don't think that is a good sign.

I told my Mom that the closest consulate was in Detroit and she shuddered.

I actually thought about this... I put a * before your username in the list, and I'll ask other 2nd/3rd-time applicants to do the same

Haha, what happened? At least it's time to kick back and not worry anymore... right? :P
Hey, I'd rather be in LA and Southern California in general than the Bay Area....but maybe that's just me, haha.

And...I just found out a former Japanese teacher of mine down there happens to be an interviewer for JET (or at least, was one last year), so...DOH!

I am currently letting the excess adrenaline seep out of my system by listening to mellow trance music, riding the high of half a Hershey's Dark bar and a Dr. Pepper.

This is my 3rd application to JET. Before, I've always been meticulous and thorough. This time has been rushed, hurried, and a palm-sweating, nerve-racking hell. Late letters of reference, then the applyyourself website stopped working for me... all manner of nonsense has seemed to conspire against this year's application. Ah, well, at least I'm steadily employed.

When are you dropping it off? Just curious, cuz if everything goes according to plan, I'm headed down to DC to do so tomorrow.
