I'm not trying to be funny. Why would it be any different from applying to any university? Do you have a specific concern?

In the UK you fill in a UCAS form which is sent to a government agency that split up your choices to 6 different schools, with the Japanese system do you fill in a application form for all the schools, i have no idea what the procedure it.

Well, in the America you have two chioces: there is one genreal form that many schools will accept. OR you acn always get an application from a particular school, get it, and then fill it out. Then put it in an envelope, write the address on the enevelope, affix the stamp, and put it in the post.

I'm sure if you go to a school's website you can find out about the application methods and procedures.

Actually I would be studying IR or international politics with an East Asian focus most likely, if I study here.

It's actually a decent system, only 1 form to fill in and 6 Universities get your info. But when I did my Masters I applied directly to the University, but i knew which University i wanted to join.

Is the whole Entrance exam procedure across Japan, or is it just in some Universities?

Every university has a different entrance exam.
