View Full Version : Applications Now Open for New ITIL Administrator

As several of you already know, I've applied for a volunteer position that will take six months to complete. If I get the job, it will be extremely demanding of my time, and as such, I will be unable to fulfill my duties as administrator of the site for six months.

So here's the deal, you potential power trippers -- I'm going to open applications for the site's new interim administrator. Assuming things go well during your reign, you will still have a staff position at the end of your six-month term.

Requirements:

An insane amount of free time.
A tolerance for heavy abuse.
The ability to work well with others.
The ability to always keep a cool head.
The ability to be trusted with sensitive information.
A posting history documenting mental stability

Preferred Traits:

Will be on the JET Program for another year
Server administration experience
Forum moderation or administration experience
Someone that I've met personally

If you don't meet the required traits, don't bother applying. If you don't meet the preferred traits, by all means apply, as you could still be exactly what I'm looking for. A willingness to learn can override any amount of previous experience in this case.

TO APPLY:

Send me a PM telling me why you want to be the Administrator, what would make you a good Administrator, and how you meet the requirements and/or preferred traits that I set forth previously. If you want to work on your application for a while, that's fine, but please send me a PM saying something like "I'm interested!"

Applications will be closed on Friday, and I will begin the process of interviewing potential candidates.

How long is maternity leave? ;)

At least a year, but:
1. I'm not currently a JET and
2. I have no experience with site administration and
3. I'm going to be doing translation and tutoring work from home and
4. I'm not currently a JET

Yeah, 1 and 4 are the same, but I actually think it's a really important criterion.

Nah, 1 & 4 aren't biggies imo. Tech know how is important but #1 must be general cop-on. Bring in someone from the outside! :)

If I go back to my old job I will have an insane amount of free time.

Tempting, I've moderated on other forums before. I won't be on JET another year though so WHATEVER.

lol oh yeah I forgot I might actually have stuff to DO in my free time when I get back to Philly silly me. Trivial we'll miss you. :(

lol, some of the requirements rule out certain posters (like say, ones with over 11k posts ) this could be interesting, but i doubt I'll be right for the job, although! I'd more than be up for applying for some sort of co-admin position if you ever have those up...

Hello... SCIBY?!?!?!

Hi?

Oh, you're suggesting me?

I'm open to the idea, but my time has been a bit sucked up lately. I'm getting home at 10pm and heading off to work at 7:30 like a normal worker.

Unhhhhhhhh... Trivial and I would have to talk about it, but for at least the next month, I don't think I'd fit the obsessive admin profile he's looking for.

I'd be happy to help out where required though.

well mental stability being a requirement I guess I'm out and besides I've finally found myself doing waayyy wayy more shit outside of just being an ALT so I'm happy with my little slice.
