Just a musing, but does anyone else feel that they have developed new/improved existing skills since applying for JET?

I don't have any teaching experience so I've been reading about teaching skills as well as studying for my final exams and I think my time management skills have greatly improved. It will be interesting to see what other unexpected skills we all develop after a year (at least) of living and working in Japan.

Any thoughts? :)

I've learned that your eyesight actually does get worse from spending too much time on the Internet.

I've learned a lot more about japanese beauracracy. I've also learned to be more patient and let things work themselves out.

I know in preparing for this I've learned a lot of different things. But the most interesting stuff is what I have learned about Japan, the Japanese and Japanese culture.

Oh and I've been learning the language as well. :)

Being patient isn't easy... I really want to go NOW! :D

but I can wait.. ..... mainly 'cause I don't have a choice... ;)
