Huge congratulations! Kobe is lovely [as you well know, by the sounds of it]. Have an awesome time.
About the only thing you'll miss is the welcome at the Keio Plaza, right?

SO jealous!

Early placement? I want! Kobe? I want! From Melbourne? That's me, too...

Also isn't the end of May only 1 month ;-)

Congrats! They probably won't do a full-out orientation (as it's probably a case of an ALT going home early/you'll (probs) be the only new ALT) but you can probably arrange to go to TO in July as long as you pay the difference.

Ah thanks Page,

im worrying a little about my circumstances regarding my apartment/predecessor/omiyage etc.

if anyone is from Kobe and could provide me any advice it would be greatly appreciated, or even anyone in Hyogo for that matter as I am very much so in the dark :)

HyogoAJET (http://www.hyogoajet.net/wiki/Main_Page)

Would be a good start. Hyogo is technically a separate organisation, but I'm sure you might be able to find some useful contacts.

Thanks, but I bet now that you've taken one of my placement requests I'll end up in a tiny village in Okinawa that only has access to the main island by ferry that travels once every month and is a plane trip to Honshu.

Not that I'd hate that, it'd still be cool in its own ways, but I'm still hoping for an urban Kansai placement. In large part so my partner has more options and because I have friends in Kansai...

I was cool with waiting when everyone was waiting with me... Your early placement in a city I requested is killing me, though! I'm not working at the moment so I would have loved to start getting paid sooner :^_^:

PS: Had you already submitted your reply form? Wondering if that was a factor- I only sent mine on Monday.

Ahhhh yeah I can only imagine how that must feel dude.

I sent my reply off but it came back this morning reply to sender as it seems the stamp fell off =p
Apparently the boe in Kobe asked for me asked for me specifically and Kobe was my first choice also.

Congrats :) I got early placement in Kobe as well. There were four of us at the mini orientation and then they flew us to Kobe April 13th. Not sure if you will be getting an orientation or not.. But Kobe is lovely! It was my first choice as well, really enjoying it. There are 120+ Jets here right now. Do you know what neighborhood you`re in yet? Lemme know if you have any specific questions!
