Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone has ever heard one getting their pension refund deposited into a Japanese bank, rather than one in their home country. I am finishing up JET this year and will be heading back to the America for a few weeks, but then I am moving back to Japan. I was hoping to have my lump-sum deposit (the big like 80% part of the pension refund, not the tax thing) deposited into my bank account here in Japan.

Has anyone ever heard of this happening?

Yes you can.

Just fill out your bank information and don't forget to get the form stamped by your J-bank.

Thank you.

Did you get the MEXT scholarship btw? I remember when I used to frequent this place you were readying yourself for the application and everything.

Sorry for super late reply.

I never went through with the MEXT thing and decided on going to a US grad program instead.

My field isn't so hot in Japanese universities anyway.
