Hello, this is my first post, so here goes!

I was just wondering what you might estimate the average age of the entry level JET to be? I'm asking this because I'll 22 or 23 when I get my degree (if all goes according to plan  ), so I'd like to know if I'd be of similar age to my fellow (prospective) JETs (if the 2nd part of my plan works out).

Any input would be much obliged!

*PS. The 3rd part of my plan is to take over the world!!! *

that only shows the ages of people who use this site, and some of them ain't JETs. most JETs where i live are not members of this site, and there are quite a lot of em.

I believe that when I applied I read on the JET site it was 25.

I think on the JET programme site they have some statistics about JETs.

Yeah, 25 sounds about right. Heh, I'm 24, and ill be the oldest of the 5 people in my office next august. One of our newbies is 22. That said, there's a 30 year old JET in the next apartment building, and there's a guy in the next town who's in his mid 30s and married.

40 is the guildline age limit, but most JETs are in their 20s. Don't worry, you'll fit right in.

My JET age is 24.... ahem

Anyway, people seem ageless in Japan. It is weird how your real life is put on hold while you are in Japan! Be whatever age you wanna be!

Nara had a mixture of old and young, but age gaps seem less than they would back home... spooky

At my orientation weekend that we just had, the average age was about 27-28. There were a few people younger than that and a few people in their mid-30s as well.

Yah I'm pretty young... 23. Of course, compared to Japanese women, I look way old for my age. I swear, I have never in my life seen so many 30-year-olds that look like teenagers! Then they hit 45, and wham! overnight they get hit with the wrinkle stick. It's very weird.
