I was in Kanazawa one summer for 2 months on a Japanese language program. Kanazawa is a cute little city. Good place to learn any of the big traditional arts. They set themselves up to be "Japan's most beautiful castle town" with also trying to super international. It's pretty, muggy and hot in the summer, lots of snow in the winter. Kanazawa is the biggest city around there, but in suburbia dotted with rice fields there are big amusement complexes with cinema and shopping malls walkable from little local train stations.

I am going to Ishikawa, specifically Kanazawa. I just found out yesterday from my pred...no official word yet though.

My pred says I get a choice...I will work in the mountains, but I can live in the city or the mountains...completely up to me. I didn't think I would have any choices to make at all, so this sort of caught me off guard.
