Has anyone figured out the best way of shipping items from the UK? Someone mentioned using the Post Office but I can't find any information on the website.

Anyone else have any idea??

You can get a leaflet from the post office with details of parcelforce worldwide - I thinks it works out at about £50 to post a 5kg box to Japan (takes about a week, maybe little bit more). Just to give you an idea of parcelforce.

Has anyone else had any bright ideas, about which company to use / prices etc.

Ive not got the leaflet with me, but for PF, max package weight is 20kg, max size is 1 cubic metre, and that costs around £120 for their economy (3 weeks) service.

Nippon Express collect from London addresses for free, or you can deliver to Swiss Cottage. They take boxes 150cm3 weighing up to 25kg for £65 per box.

Erm, no. But call them on 020 8737 4000. I am actually going to try and stuff all my stuff into my two suitcases! I have also been told paying excess baggage is the cheapest and safest way - but then I guess there is only so much baggage you can have in excess...
