My job in Japan is definitely better as far as teaching hours and work load go. If you get a public school job in Japan (not through a private company but full on public) it should be about the same. I mostly left because i wanted to experience Japanese culture. I enjoyed my time their and would go back again for work.

It is very hard to say if i like one over the other. As a foreigner there are aspects of both culture which you will complain about. There are also aspects you will like especially when you are recovering from one culture over another.

If you are interested in Korea go for it, the salaries and cost of living are better than Japan which is always and up.

If you don't mind, I have a question for you as I can see you were in Korea before Japan. I am in the opposite situation. I am now on JET but wanting to work in Korea. If I may ask, why did you choose to leave Korea for Japan? And thus far, do you find Japan better in any way than Korea, making you think you made the right choice? I am hoping to be living in Korea by this time next year. And do you think a 36 yr old Latino might have a hard time finding a job in Korea? Thanks.
