    Leaving Japan Residential Taxes

So, I've been trying to read up on this, but all of the sources talk about moving within Japan. I have moved within Japan and received the payment checks, but this time I'm not moving within the...

Something else to keep in mind is that you may get a prefectural placement (SHS) and not find out your exact placement until much, much later.
This is especially true for Hokkaido BOE placements....

    Re: Arriving in Japan

I have TESL at the university level.

I did not like those books. I am very glad I didn't buy one of them, there was actually more than one copy of those books in my BOE already.

I will ask my boss later this week. Hope they don't start asking questions. I don't want to lie.

Re: Dealing with an apartment lease

My concern is that the landlord might mention it to my boss. Leading to unwanted questions.

    Dealing with an apartment lease

    So long story short.
Due to health concerns I am considering leaving Japan before the end of the 2 year term on my apartment.

Not sure about the states, but in certain situations exceptions can be made. Most notably, if you were in Japan at the time of application and still are.

Just curious about this sister city program and why it's your backup?
Other than the pay what other differences are there? What are the perks of the sister city job? What are the limitations?
