    <tt>Hi Lynette!

So far, there are at least three people from UC San Deigo that
will be going to Japan this year. I hope you get upgraded and
will keep my fingers crossed for you. I actually graduated with a
B.S. in Biochemistry/Cell Biology. The only kind of teaching
experience I have is training lab assistants and TEP130 (class
at UCSD) in which I was a mentor at Freese Elementary in South
San Diego. It will be totally new to me and I am kind of nervous.
Yikes!! :) Do you have teaching experience?

    Hey Joe,

Congrats on JET! I"m from SD and was just wondering of you
    knew anyone
else from San Diego that"s doing Jet this year. I"m an alternate
    as of
now and waiting to be upgraded. I graduated from UCSD in
    2002. What
was your major? That"s nice that you got placed in Chiba!

    Hello Everybody,

My name is Joseph Thibault (26 yrs) and am currently living
    in La
Jolla, CA. I graduated from UCSD in 2000 and am currently
working in the Pharmaceutical Industry in San Diego. I am
extremely excited to get away from the monotony of Pharm
Research and jump into the exciting and challenging world of
    the
ALT. I have just been notified that I will be going to Chiba-ken,
Osmishirasato-machi. (man this is sort of a tongue twister)
Anyone else placed in this area? I can"t believe that I got my
    first
choice, but I have no idea where my lil town is. Anyways I
    don"t
know very much Japanese and get lost in the Japan train
    system
like there"s no tomorrow. So if anyone wants to kick it or get
    lost
with me, give me a ring!! I don"t have a picture up right now
    but I
have a few pictures on this website: www.stripedhat.com. (a
website of my filmmaking crew back in college) I haven"t
    figured
out how to put one up on this site yet. I will not be able to
    make
the June 23rd meeting in Los Angeles, because i will be off
    to
Costa Rica for two weeks. A little last minute vacationing
    before
the departure. Well, good luck to all and hope to meet some
    of
    you soon.

    <tt>Hey Joe,

Thanks for crossing your fingers! =) I know there"s at least one other
alternate from UCSD also. I"ve got some experience teaching - not much
tho.. I used to teach religion classes at chruch - I did that for 2
and a half years... that was more like babysitting. I"m sure you"ll do
fine in Japan tho.. no need for nervousness - just have fun with it!

Wow - you used to mentor at Freese - I"m not exactly sure where that
is but I know it"s somewhere in my area. Have you ever been to japan?
I was there earlier this year.. I loved it!

going to see some good music (if we can) for three days! It"s the

I don"t think there will be time "cuz we"ll be in Tokyo and I believe

    I wish I could go.
    The lineup looks rad.

    Hi all!

I found out today that my contracting organisation is in Saitama-
    Ken... anyone
know where that is? ^_^ I"ve been trying to find a good map to look
    on but
have come up short so far... If anyone knows one, plz tell me =_=

Is anyone else heading there? (I guess some would, since the JET
    website
lists it as the prefecture with the highest humber of JETs). If
    you know you"re
    going there please tell me!

and by the way, I live in brisbane, for those aussies who haven"t
    found out yet
and are paranoid (me 5 hrs ago ^_^). I"d love to hear the progress
    of
    australian jets too...

    anyways,

    roy
