Ah I just hate Canberra. ANU is a good uni and it sounds like a good course so I'm sure it's gamanable.

I just got a letter from the UAC. I got into my first choice which is a Juris Doctor (graduate law) course at UTS. I did my undergrad at Sydney and a bit of PG at UTS and I wanted to go back to UTS (plus Sydney law is impossible to get into unless mummy and daddy ... you know the drill) so I'm very excited.

Really? I thought you just needed a credit average to get into grad law at Usyd...

    Congrats on UTS though.

I think Canberra will be fine since my gf is moving down with me (she knows nothing about Canberra though!). It should be fun :P

As i said I don't really like Canberra becuase of the cold weather, but if I achieve my goals of working for the Federal Govt I will be living down there for at least a year. Living here in japan I've become a bit moved used to the cold weather, so fingers crossed it will work out!

I would be happy in Immigration/citizenship, DFAT, AusAid, Customs of Fed police.

I made it to the final round for the Customs Grad Programme last year (final 15) but was one of the 5 who missed out

They told me at age 22, I needed to go out an get some more life experience and step outside my safety zone more. So here I am in Japan!

Really? Credit average? Hmm maybe I should look at transferring after 6 months in that case?

But in a way I think I wanted UTS more. Sydney is all about Jurisprudence whereas at UTS you get a more internationalable title (JD not LLB) and it's more practical meaning you can walk out accredited by the Supreme Court after 3 years iwth work experience. Usyd I loved as a place but I've done so many theory heavy subjects I'm looking for something a bit more practice and real world heavy, at least for a bit.

I'm pretty excited though. I think tonight might drinking night

I lived in Canberra for 6 months... it wasn't that bad for me but if I didn't have family and friends there already and enjoy weekend barbeques more than going out clubbing on a saturday night I would have gone NUTS.

That said, ANU is apparently awesome sauce, so grats Timoshi.

Haven't gotten in yet guys, but thanks aye. (I can't see them saying no, I didn't work bore my ass off for a year writing that damn honours thesis for nothing).

I don't see what the fuss is about Canberra too. Sydney is only 4 hours away, it's 'nice' there's good food, could be much much worse. I've managed to find plenty of things to do way out in the inaka, it's a step up entertainmentwise for me

I don't care for the Usyd attitude. They aren't as clever as they think they are (better than Macquarie though!!)

Yeah, it's a knob factory alright.

When you're there you notice that there are plenty of normal people, but it's the fuckwits that stick in your memory. Politics is an exception. Knobs are the easy majority there. The further you go, the more full of themselves they become.

By the way, did you hear the latest from the SRC? They're going to change the world because they're really really angry!!! I'm so glad!!! RARARARARAAAARRAAAAA!!!!

Yea the SRC spent a lot of time getting really really angry hey.

Now we've got VSU though I think I'm going to join the UTS union because they have discounts that I want on things so it pays for itself but yea ... student associations scare me hey.
