Feel free to shout out if you need help ... I'll try to do my best to give you something constructive and hopefully useful. PM me if need be. Last year the other kiwis on the site really helped me out so I'd love to do the same.
Kiwikid. Few questions please. Which airline did you end up flying over to Japan on? and did you send some boxes over with your winter clothes? Any help on making this process easier would be great. Thanks.

Most often JAL, but you may possibly be given ANA this year.

I guess it will be JAL or Air New Zealand. ANA does not fly into NZ.

I remember it being a code share JAL/NZ (I think?) but was actually just on an Air NZ aircraft for the AKL/CHC group.

@Hariata! I'm from Auckland and applied with my best friend (we are 2 girls).....ooooh exciting! It could be us? Do you know any more about your successor/s? Which general area are you in?

We haven't found out anything about our successors, but our town has a friendship city relationship with Akl. We are on the east coast north of Iwaki in Fukushima prefecture. It's a decent placement, albeit rural.

Just received mine this evening! I've been placed in Ehime, Uwajima-shi The email says that we'll get another "welcome letter from your contracting organization, together with the terms of employment and other information sometime after 27 May 2010."

Hello! I'm Tiffany, I'm from Taupo. Just got my placement in Miyazaki prefecture in Kyushu! Not sure of town/city/village yet but looks like a beautiful area

Hi Visualanguage. Update. We have both been placed in Kobe-shi. Not sure of the exact location, but happy to be in the same place.

Congrats to all you kiwis who are heading off to Japan this year.

Alas for the second time in a row I have had to postpone applying, which of course after 10 years of dreaming of being in JET has not made for a happy Cytrix. However now that I will have full teaching registration at the end of this year and I will finally have finished all my damn study/PRT-ness, nothing will stand in my way for 2011!
