    Default Had your interview yet?

I know some people are having their interview today, I don't know if anyone has had their interview already.

However if anyone has just had theirs and wants to divulge a bit of information that might suggest if they're looking for anything in particular this year, feel free to post here. I imagine it will benefit many people.

Also post where you had it because I understand there's quite a difference between the US and the UK.

I think that's quite fair to be honest.

We the, 2005 potential entry people need all the free places we can get.

We can't have just any Tom, Dick and Harry blagging their way onto the Jet because they've learned all their secrets from elsewhere.

yeah i totally agree with you enay i want this job more than anything -- i gave it everything in application and interview, and if i didn't get it cos of some cheats i'd be quite upset....

anyways..as much as i prepared for my interview, i was just being myself -- my face naturally lights up when i talk about JET, might sound sad but i'm sure I came across as enthusiastic no doubt about it.

The funny thing was, before my interview i went to starbucks to grap a hot chocolate...thought i'd start talking to this pretty looking business woman and it turned out she was a recruitment consultant! she gave me last minute advice that i reckon helped a lot!! Thank you whoever you are...

You're the kind of guy JET don't want! You'll be chatting up all the Japanese women, you monster! Away with thee!
HANG on.... didn't I see a picture of Paul in the post office with "WANTED: for Chatting Up Japanese Birds" on it?

I'm not going over JUST for that, but hey... if Opportunity knocks, swing the door wide, and put on a cuppa.

That was basically it - he set up a site which showcased his private correspondance with the Embassy. That is, of course, something you shouldn't do (in any business context). I think he was quite lucky that his contract wasn't with the Embassy (they only proffer you to Japan - the contract is with the BoE or the Municipal body that hires you), as I would have ruled that as grounds for dismissal.

    Quite stupid, really.

You want words of inspiration? ok "Japan, its not all bad, I mean at least 7-11 stays open 24 hours" thats about as much as I can come up with at the moment but I'll get back to you if I think of anything else.

My interview was awesome. I literally came in the face of my interviewer before he got to the second syllable of Jap-. I told him that I had never really felt at home in Western society, where I am ugly and boring and the girls have standards. I'd brought in some of the anime stuff I'd been drawing in class (obviously I left out some of the more severe high school rape porn) and produced my black belt that I got doing a martial art with a fancy name that features Real Assassination Techniques and genuine Philosophising about chi and shit.

I think it was going okay until one of the panel asked what I could bring to the programme. I broke down and ended up clinging round his waist, my head buried in his lap and my tears running into the crotch of his trousers. "Take me with you!" I shrieked "I'm nothing here! All my life I've dreamed of going to Japan! All my problems will be solved if I can go some place where I'll be taller-than-average and the girls will put up with all my neurotic shit!"

    I got placed in Mieken.

So do you like girls then, Bigred? I'd never have guessed.

Well my interview was a breeze, when confronted with a army of fanboys and sex tourists the guy said a angry drunk was a refreshing change and would do less long term harm to the kids compared to most of the peodos that end up on jet. I told him that I hated him and all his yellow monkey friends but agreed to go because I enjoy educating foreigners about how inferior they are to the master race (Yorkshiremen that is)
