I get the feeling you all have a bachelor of arts and then maybe some other qualifications/post-grad. Anybody else study something other than arts?

Bachelor of Architecture is a 5-year accredited professional program that allows you to get licensing. A lot of Universities of replaced that with a regular non-professional 4-year program. 5-year professional undergrads no longer exist in Canada. Instead, you have to do an undergrad and a professional Masters to be able to get a license as an architect. To me it's basically a money grab... extend the 5 year program to two degrees adding up to 6+ years. Masters is the new Bachelor.

What Architect said is right, we all do the same jobs the only difference is a person with that professional degree can take the test, get the paper, and call themselves an architect. I switched to the program my 4th year of college from a 5 year so I know that there is only one class difference between the two ... Ethics

    "confirmed bachelor"

Great men of action never mind on occasion being ridiculous; in a sense it is part of their job.

At larger firms it make little difference the work you do but the licensed architect might have more responsibility and generally more sought after with higher pay. At smaller firms license ends up meaning a lot more in work and pay.

Isn't that how engineering works in the US/Canada now as well - it's a BSc + masters degree?

I'm sure there are, but I asked for non-BA graduates. Japanese studies is a BA major innit?
