tsugaruzuki, that is what I like to hear.

is there anything else you guys are planning to take (besides kanken) now that you've passed N1? because i still feel empty.

There's also a Nihongo-kentei for Japanese native speakers.
I think we gaijin could do well on some stuff, like parsing sentences into grammatical units and the different uses of keigo. There are at least six different levels that I know of.

There's also Hisho-kentei, which combines etiquette with verbal and nonverbal language. Of course, you also have to know how to do some basic office tasks and bookkeeping as well.

Other than that, I would love to know of some other kenteis out there!

personal favorite, Business Keyboard kentei. has anyone else noticed that Japan is bad at typing? we need some Maaaaavis Beacon up in here.

I somehow magically passed N2 with
    28, 28, 44 for a total of 100

I'm not sure how this math works. And looking at the JLPT site with explanations of the scoring made it make even less sense. How does 19 points mean passing the section?

it's not so much that you passed it as much as it is a minimum score to ensure you are not severely handicapped in one or more areas of your japanese abilities.

instead of passing, it could be more accurate to think of it as a cartoon penguin in front of a roller coaster ride holding a sign that says "you must not suck this much to pass."
