Hello everyone,

I am a student from the USA shooting for the Senshugakko MEXT scholarship on 2014. I plan on studying industrial design or product design (these two fields are so similar that there are a lot of overlap).

However, I read somewhere on another site that students from the USA have a harder time getting the Senshugakko or even the undergraduate scholarship because we are a developed country.

Does anyone from a developed country have experiences trying to get senshugakko? If so, could you share with me your experiences in the application process (specifically, on the university selection)? As a design student/senshugakko, will I get a bachelor's diploma?

Also, are there other alternatives to MEXT for privately-financed students?

Thank you!
