I registered but it won't confirm my account. ;-; The website tells me my account is activated once I click the link, but when I attempt to log in, it tells me my account isn't validated. T-T What a jerk site.

I'm not from Canada, but this might still be relevant although a bit late. I went to a JET info session at uni (only 4 people, including myself attended) and it was presented by the JET Co-ordinator in Melbourne. The presentation ran for about an hour and it was mostly basic information about what JET is, what you do, what traits you need to have, tips on the SoP etc. He finished a little early and there was time for questions which was nice.

The consulate ran two more sessions in my state, with the addition of presentations from 2 returnee JETs. I didn't go to those though.

    I guess networking is good.

You might want to check with the consulate if they have follow up sessions or if they can send you the slides of the presentation.

3am on the 16th. bizarrely japanese embassies use the Hebrew calendar
Great men of action never mind on occasion being ridiculous; in a sense it is part of their job.

If you need to know Mitch, it's usually best to ask the consulate.

Maybe it's just superstition. It'd be nice to have a couple of buffer interviews before me to soften up the interviewers. haha

    Second attempt, first interview.
Being first does kind of suck, but the interviewers will do their best to consider all applicants equally. They'll also take notes to which they can refer so your positive qualities are not forgotten.

For my part, I was the first interview on the second day and I did all right.
