Mine is on Monday as well. I don't get back to Australia until Saturday though so won't have much time to prepare at all. Hopefully whatever I do manage to prepare will be enough to get me through.

Anyways I hope everyone good luck with their upcoming interview!

Nervous! Might see some of you guys in Sydney tomorrow. Anyone else have trouble finding somewhere to do a 3x4cm photograph? Awkward size.

I just used a passport photo, it was a little big, but it mostly fit

Not sure why you brought a bomb to the interview in the first place.

Flash grenades, it's about making an entrance.

Can't say I feel better about my interview. Now to wait 3 months for the result.

Have Brisbane interviews been and gone? I'm an ex-JET from Melbourne now based on the Sunny Coast but I have to go to the Japanese consulate on Monday (16th Feb) to organise a police check for the time I spent in Osaka even though I already had one done in Osaka so I could go and teach in England. The QLD education dept. is fucked. Don't tell them I said that.
Anyway, if you're aspiring, or you had your interview and want a shoulder to cry on, and will be in Brisbane on Monday AM, send me a PM.

EDIT: Never mind, went back in the thread. Is Kyle the only QLD applicant on here? All the best for the 13th, Kyle.

Yeah, my interview is on the 13th. I don't think anyone else on here is going to the Brisbane interviews. I hope it doesn't go too bad!

you'll be fine. just try not to drop too many F bombs during your answers.

Yeah i figure there is no point in worrying about it too much. I've prepared a little for potential questions and read over my SOP but i'm not that worried about being asked questions from it because everything i wrote is true and i can easily elaborate on anything i wrote about. And i think i can come up with decent answers for most other questions too. For example, i put down my placement request because it is not so far from my wife's hometown. I'm honestly worried the most about the section in which they will test my Japanese level. I put down that i speak at an intermediate level because i have studied up until lower-mid intermediate level at university. However, my Japanese is pretty rusty and i feel it has suffered a lot as i hadn't had the opportunity to use it too often recently. I've also always had trouble with listening. I envision myself just drawing at blank at questions they ask. Anyway, i'll just see how it goes!

So I had my interview today in Brisbane and it was very relaxed and most of the questions were quite easy or were questions I had prepared for. I could answer everything without much trouble so I guess it just depends on if they liked how I came across. I kind of stumbled over the Japanese section a bit although I'm happy that I understood all the questions and could at least answer them, albeit with a few grammar mistakes.

    Hi all!

Had my interview in Adelaide on the 28th of January and after reading some interview horror stories and fearing the worst I walked out feeling like it almost went a little too well...

Haven't seen/read anything about anyone else from little old Adelaide so I'm wondering if I'm the only one on here!

This waiting game is the worst...

Just registered for these forums. I had my interview in Brisbane on Friday, 13th February. I think it went extremely well.

A friend of mine had a horrible experience with her interview last year, and she was surprised when she got in. My interviewers were extremely nice, and all the questions I was asked were ones that I had prepared for. I even had the panel laughing at a few different points.

Last year it looked like the Brisbane applicants found out around 6th to 8th April. So, I am hoping it will be the same this year.
