Is there any possible way of getting out of a contract with NHK? Stupidly opened door, paid, and signed. Very stupidly.

Just pay your tax, gaijin cheapskate freeloader.
Don't own a TV?
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.
There is a TV within my apartment. I assumed the apartment would pay the tax. But, it seems that I was mistaken.
You own a TV. In this country, there is a tax on owning a TV. If you want to live in this country you should live by its laws. What else is there to say?
I've never heard of apartments paying the TV tax for residents, but if that's something you think you've heard make sure to talk to your supervisor. They might be able to grab your housing contract for you to take a look at.
But yeah, TV taxes are a thing, and Japan doesn't need any more tax dodgers.
Couldn't tell you. I don't have a TV.
How else would they make those soap opera tier "dramas" that are somehow more blatant in their message than after school specials.
Or their quality children's programming and news. Oh wait. That doesn't help the typical JET ALT narrative.
Who watches the news?
What are those?
WATASHI NOT HAVE TEREBE!
I got one and I watch those crappy NHK dramas
Man, I really should get a TV.
