The preschool here is absolutely overflowing, and theres a waiting list for kids to get in. If they ever wanted a foreigner, I'd say yes in a heartbeat.

My work contracts with a private kindy. Not that we teachers ever see the money, but the kindy pays 30man a month for 2.5hrs of classes a week. Not sure why they won't drop our contract and hire a full time foreigner to English for the kids. Lord knows it'd be cheaper.

Compared to jet, sure. Most jobs for unqualified morons like us pay about the same. I've seen some preschool positions for more than jet though.

Got my papers and signed on for another year before I reached breaking point. Now I'm pissed off as all hell and who knows? Might break contract halfway through the next year if the job keeps sucking as much ass as it does now.

a little late to this, but...

in my second year now, and decided not to recontract. I have family obligations, and I discovered through JET that classroom teaching is not something I really have a knack for. I've learned the ropes, but I'd rather quit while I'm ahead than punish everyone else and myself while my skills slide downhill in a job I'm slowly losing interest in. I'm a trained musician; time to focus on that again.
