Why did you REALLY apply for the JET Program? Was it being in an educational setting? Was it to experience Japan? Something else? Sorry if something similar has been posted before. I'm a newb here. Just curious that's all, plus my experience with other JETs whose behavior and priorities say otherwise.

I was in my final year of university and didn't know what the hell to do after. This seemed interesting.

I feel bad bc there are people who have been dreaming of JET since high school and didn't get in (not that the standards are very high, mind you), whereas I just thought this would be a fun way to waste a few years.

Money was good at the time and it offered the opportunity to fanny around in exotic climes. I put barely a second's thought into the job itself either before or during Jet.
