    Default 1900 TOEIC

Almost all my students have this book. It appears to contain 1900 words, along with an example sentence of each (although sometimes the example sentences dont actually use the printed Japanese translation of the keyword in them, rather they use another translation of the keyword).

Assuming you can get through the kanji, either by asking someone or from using a dictionary, I reckon this is probably a fairly good way to begin the Japanesey process of cramming vocab into your head.

I picked up this book and another book for 1050 yen each at SATY.

This is one way the AFS student at my school picks up vocab. It is a good idea
