    Sometimes certain books cost cheaper to buy from certain countries. I live in Asia too so I thought it might save on shipping etc.

    No one has ever mentioned the price of the Genki books in Japan itself, just curious.

    If you want to get past 3kyuu I suggest you start talking or writing to some Japanese people. www.lang-8.com is a great site for this kind of study. People write blogs in the language they want to learn, and native speakers of that language correct them.
